Jesus In The Prophetic Books

The conclusion of our study through the typology of the Old Testament. Today, we look at Jesus in the prophetic books, specifically focusing on the book of Isaiah and the prophecy of the Suffering Servant, who is the messiah.

Sermon Text:

Isaiah 52:13-53:12

Jesus In The Wisdom Books

A continued look at where we find Jesus in the Old Testament.

While the wisdom books do not have any direct theophanies like the historical books, there is powerful imagery and foreshadowing of Christ that is present.

Sermon Texts:
Job 9
Ecclesiastes 12

Lukewarm

***UPDATE***
Due to some technical difficulties, the software I use to record sermons compressed the audio of this sermon to a point where it started to cut out a lot of the audio. At times, it is almost unintelligible. I apologize for this, and hopefully in the weeks to come this issue will not be a problem. I've already identified the setting on my recording software that did this, so I will test it this week and ensure that sermons in the future are better quality. - Pastor Peter

Sermon for 12/6/2015

"Lukewarm"

Revelation 3:14-22

We are warned of the Laodicean Church - who were rebuked for being "lukewarm" Christians - and we are told how to avoid becoming the same way.

In this sermon, Pastor Peter walks us through Revelation 3 and shows how the same issues facing the ancient Church face the Church today, and that Repentance is the key to "purchasing" the spiritual blessings provided for by Christ.

Jesus In The Law

The third part in our sermon series examining the places we find Jesus in the Old Testament.

This week we take a look at Leviticus, Numbers, and Deuteronomy - specifically at the Day of Atonement, and the raising of the serpent in the wilderness.

Sermon Texts:

Leviticus 16:11-22
Hebrews 9:21-28
Numbers 21:4-9
John 3:12-16

Note: The first few minutes of this sermon were not recorded. All that was left off was an overview of the principles set down in the first two weeks, namely, that God is seen by no one in the Old Testament (John 6:46), and Jesus Himself is the image of the invisible God (Colossians 1:15). We therefore know that Jesus Himself is the one who appears to the saints in the Old Testament. Additionally, we are reminded that Jesus proclaimed to his disciples that He was present in all of the Old Testament (Luke 24:27).
